Help Me Debut!

tbfofunding

Don’t worry, I have not forgotten about my blog project. I will release the introduction next week, as I do not want to crowd my blog with too many posts.

Now, you might be asking why; why did I push back the exciting blog project I have been talking so much about? Well, it’s because of The Battle For Oz.

If you did not read my last post, this will seem new to you, but if you did, I hope this post will nudge you to check out the project. I honestly do not like to repeat the topic of my posts, but I have to be certain I did my best to raise funds for my book.

So, what’s going on with The Battle For Oz?

I have put the novel up on a crowd-funding publishing website.

What is crowd-funding?

Crowd-funding is when you and everyone else decides to fund my book. If the funding goal is met, the book will be published. If it’s not met, you will be refunded.

Inkshares is similar to Kickstarter and Indiegogo, except it is only for books.

How much is the goal?

$7,700. That is why I need all of your help!

What happens after the project meets the goal?

The Battle For Oz will be professionally edited, designed, printed, and distributed to bookstores.

What do funders (a.k.a backers) get?

Depending on the amount funded, some will get e-books while others will receive paperbacks delivered to their doorsteps.

How do you fund this project?

Click HERE and you will be taken to the project page. There, you will be able to read about the project and select an amount to give. You can give any amount you like by clicking ‘Back This Book’.

Inkshares accepts funds through credit and debit cards.

*Minimum funding is 5USD, but with that you can get an e-book.

Until when can you fund this project?

The campaign runs from Oct 2nd 2014 to January 5th 2015.

But from today till October 11, the publisher will add an extra 5USD whenever a person decides to fund the project.

If 1,000 of you fund 5USD in the next few days, the project would be 90% completed. So you see, the minimum can make a HUGE difference!

I hope this simple break down answers any of your questions. Thank you for all the support you have shown so far and I hope you would consider supporting me in this endeavour too. I also appreciate all the Facebook shares, re-blogs, and tweets on this project. You guys are amazing!

Keeping this short and sweet, I’ll end with a shout out to all my current funders/backers: Joan Tan, Mrs Roberts, Calvin Ng, Jonas Lee, Fuibee, May Foo, Tony To, Mr Ray, Jay Low, Yean Ching & Greg, Kenny Saw, Mei Mei Yap, Angelyn Looi, Douglas, Sharon Lim, Kok Kin, Peng Sheng, Katherine Law, Elaine Ong, Cheng Yee,  and all those friends who have said they would back me up. Thank you for believing in me 🙂

Have a nice day!

Would you… invest in me?

would you invest in me

Hey there!

Yes, you over there; the well-dressed human with good looks staring at this screen. Oh, don’t be modest. I am indeed referring to you. The very person I know would give me a few minutes to make this pitch. So, how was your day? Good? Well I sure hope so, but let’s not dilly dally, I’ll get straight to the point.

So… if you’ve been following my blog, you would know that I write. A lot. I’ve also released a few books, but most of them electronically. Today, I hope to change that. How? By starting a crowd-funding project! I’ve decided to take one of my works, The Battle For Oz (novel), and put it on a platform where you, yes you, still speaking to you, can help fund! Think of it as an investment 🙂

TBFO6You’re probably going, what’s an investment with no returns? I can only say, the returns would be tons more of my work, and The Battle For Oz in paperback! Doesn’t sound compelling enough? I’ll put it this way, if you invest in me, you’re finally helping an indie author go global. There are a handful of indie (a.k.a self-published) authors that have managed to make it big, but they would not have been able to do so without their readers. I’m hoping that you, my dear awesome reader, would consider backing me up this time. If one person donates 2 USD, I would be well on my way to getting this book out. 2 USD might be a lot to some, but please do consider. That amount would go a long… long… way.

Are you sold by my terrible investment pitch? If you are and would like to know how you can fund my book, these are the steps:

#1 Visit The Battle For Oz project page.

#2 Pledge any amount. Any amount would do. Yes, ANY amount! (Certain amounts will have perks though.)

#3 Spread the word! Clicking share will determine how successful the project will be.

I’m doing this project on Inkshares, a crowd-funding publishing platform. If my project is a success, they would edit, design, print, and distribute my books worldwide! It will be a huge deal to actually have a successful project! I know the monetary goal seems huge, but Inkshares sets the optimum amount for a well published book. (Fellow writers, be sure to check Inkshares out!)

I do hope you seriously consider in giving this project a shot. It would mean the world to me to finally see a book of mine in bookstores! I know some of you have asked if you could find my books in your countries, well… this will give me the chance to say ‘yes, you can’. For those who are planning on funding The Battle For Oz, thank you in advance! I really appreciate the support, I really do 🙂

If you would like to read the first 1/3 of the book, you can download it here for free. The free copy is just a teaser, collaborated with an artist. Do note there will not be any in-book illustrations in the complete novel, as that would make the project goal too high.

So, what are you waiting for? Don’t think too much now, just check out the project!

***For the first 10 days, starting today, Inkshares will donate 5USD to my project every time a person backs it. SO, it would be a huge help even if you’re donating 1USD in the next 10 days.

(Tl;dr? Read bold words.)

Thanks for reading!

31st May Is Here

tbfoexitiumThe day has arrived!

Have you been eagerly waiting for the release of The Battle For Oz: Exitium? If yes, you’re awesome but if no, just nod your head and pretend alright 🙂

Exitium CoverThe Battle For Oz is a project that I partnered with Zaquard, the artist who worked along side me artistically, which I completed writing last year. Since it’s completion, Zaquard has drawn up a visually beautiful storm while I worked on improving the content. So today, we are both very excited to release the first book to you!

To not delay any longer, here’s the secret to getting your e-book copy of TBFO: Exitium completely free! Just click… on the… book cover in this post. Wow, what a secret! To download, just fill in your email address and you should be able to get the book immediately. Simple, eh?

All links to The Battle For Oz: Exitium on this blog will lead you to a free download, but if you find a link that is not free, just type ‘free’ into the offer code section. You should get your 100% discount 🙂

Now on to the IMPORTANT PART, which I underlined, capitalized and bolded because it is very important!

Since Exitium is the first book of The Battle For Oz novelette trilogy, the response that we (Zaquard and I) get from this book will determine how we release the other two books and possibly a concept art novel as a fourth book. So it is very, very, very important for us to hear from you.

There are a few ways you can leave us a feedback after you’ve devoured the book.

#1 Goodreads – If you have a Goodreads account, we would appreciate if you leave a rating and a review.

#2 Email – If you don’t have Goodreads and you prefer to take the more personal route, you can send me an email at jeynagrace[at]gmail.com. If you wish to contact Zaquard separately, you can find his information at the back of the e-book.

#3 Facebook – If you don’t have Goodreads and you’re not a fan of emails, you can visit The Battle For Oz fan page and leave us a message or write on our wall.

#4 Comment – Lastly, if you’re not comfortable with any of the above, you can visit the teaser post for Exitium on this blog and leave a comment there.

We really hope to hear from you guys and we will definitely appreciate all the feedback we receive. We also hope you will enjoy the story and look forward to the second book!

Lastly, I just wanna say thank you in advance to everyone who intends to download and read the book. If you love it, do tell your family, friends, neighbours, and even your pets! I bet your pets will love it, after all, there’s a dog in the story… unless… unless you pet is a cat. Then we’re in trouble.

I’ll Throw A Party For You

i'llthrowaparty4u

4,400 subscribers! Can you believe I mistakenly wrote 3,400? Jeyna, you disappoint me. Rest assured, I will never again forget the number of people who are showing their support. That is just unacceptable.

So, to all 4,400+ subscribers, thank you so much for your subscription!

“But er, it’s no big deal. You don’t have to thank me,” you say.

You’re wrong. I have to thank you because you’ve read my stories and you’re hoping to come back! That deserves a thank you 🙂 In fact, if I can give you more than a thank you, I would. One day, when I get ‘there’ I’ll have a party just for my blog subscribers. You guys believed in me before anyone else did, and I appreciate that a lot. Thank you! And please make sure to demand an invitation to that party when that day comes 🙂

Now, since I don’t want to end the post right here, I’m going to write about two random things:

#1 Break The Silence
Today’s WordPress blog prompt: when was the last time you really wanted (or needed) to say something, but kept quiet? Write a post about what you should’ve said.

Well, my answer is simple. Someone spelled ‘wander’ as ‘wonder’ and I felt like I had to correct this person. But I did not do so, because I didn’t want to come off as a grammar Nazi. After all, this person was a stranger and new on the blogosphere. It would not be nice to point out a common mistake just because I felt like I had to.

However, I should’ve said, “There’s beauty in both wondering and wandering.” It’s not an obvious hint, but it sounds nice.

#2 Raindrops
My latest novella is free to download for 4 more days, so be sure to get your e-book copy now!

Ok, all random things covered? Great! I can end my post now.

Thank you all once again for your subscription and readership. Remember, there will be a party 🙂 But until then, have a great week!

P.S Only 5 more days till the release of The Battle For Oz: Exitium and I’m excited. I hope you are too 🙂

(*Current blog post schedule: A post every Thursday alternating between an original short story and a Harry Potter fan fic novel.)

43rd TQ Post

43 tq post

I’m running out of creative titles for my ‘thank you’ posts. Apologies awesome readers, I’ll try harder next time.

So being that my title is a dead give away, there’s no point stalling. A gargantuan (since I’ve overused ‘big’) thank you to all 4,320 readers for your support and subscription. I value (since I’ve overused ‘appreciate’) your time spent and your kind comments on my posts. Your presence is of great significance (since I’ve overused ‘mean’) to me, and I am happy knowing that my words have entertained you 🙂 I hope you would continue to support me and continue to stick around as we go on more fictional escapades.

(That was slightly more creative than my title. Haha!)

Now on to a short update, well… not really. This is actually a last call to download my latest novella, Raindrops!

Raindrops Raindrops will be free to download on Gumroad till May 30th in PDF format. That is because on May 31st, The Battle For Oz: Exitium will be released! Since Exitium will be free, Raindrops will be priced at 0.99$. So if you have not downloaded it yet, do so now!

Also, if you would like Raindrops in epub and mobi formats, you can visit Screwpulp. The first 25 copies on Screwpulp will be free for download, but after that, the price will slowly increase based on the number of downloads.

Since March, Raindrops has gotten quite a number of downloads. So for all those who have downloaded and read Raindrops, I just wanna thank you guys. I do hope you enjoyed it and I would love to hear your thoughts. You can either leave your feedback or review on Goodreads or you can send me an email 🙂 Either way, I would be happy to hear from you.

I guess that is all for this post 🙂 I have a lot of plans for my blog and a couple more e-books being released this year, so I’m counting on you to stay with me as I continue to tread the waters of the indie ocean. Thank you once again for your subscription and have a great week!

4.1 Cheesy But True

4.1 cheesy but true4.1k subscribers and I’m still going! I don’t think I would ever stop blogging, so please hold me accountable to that. And while you’re at it, I guess you also know why I don’t plan on ever putting a halt to blogging. Wait.. you don’t? Well, it’s because of you!

O.k, that sounded cheesy. Perfect for the cheesy banner too. Haha! But it’s true. Cheesy but true 🙂

Thank you for being a subscriber and a supporter of my blog. By now, some of you might be bored with these cliche ‘thank you’ posts, but I shall keep them going. I don’t want you to ever forget that you’re important to me. If it means annoying you, then I hope this would be a good kind of annoyance. After all, how can one not thank their readers? I sure can’t!

So simply put, thank you for reading 😀

Now…

More on Raindrops!

For those who have downloaded my novella, thank you so much! I hope you are enjoying it so far. Do let me know what you think of it and please leave a rating on Goodreads once you’re done. Knowing you enjoy my works always makes my day 🙂

If you have not downloaded it or wanted to read Raindrops but don’t like it in pdf format, here’s some good news. I’ve placed Raindrops on Screwpulp and you can now download it in epub and mobi formats. So if you prefer those formats, please head on HERE to get a copy. For these versions, only the first 25 copies will be downloadable for free as per the website’s default setting. After that, it automatically goes up to USD 1$.

Oh, and if you’re wondering what Screwpulp is, you should totally check it out. Readers get to read books for free in exchange for reviews and ratings. So if you’re an avid reader who likes to explore indie works, you will like this site. AND if you’re an author hoping to get more ratings and reviews, then this is a great place to put your books. Be sure to download my novella too!

Anyway, that is all for this post 🙂 Thank you so much for your subscription and your support. I’m so glad I have all of you!

(*Current blog post schedule: A post every Thursday alternating between an original short story and a Harry Potter fan fic novel. Don’t worry non-potterheads, I’ll try not to disappoint you with my short stories 🙂 )
