Interesting point of view on self-doubt as a writer! I never thought about it like that. What’s really helped me in my writing journey is the idea that my writing isn’t always a perfect reflection of who I am as a writer – that both of those things will grow and change with time.
I can’t agree with you more! We can only get better from here as long as we keep pursuing our passion. After all, we never stop growing and changing.
I think I actually have the opposite problem. I think my writing is really good, but it’s probably really bad.
Hahaha! The oxymoron is your prediction that it’s probably bad. So… do you actually think your writing is really good? 🤔
I mean, for the most part, I like it, and I think I use that as an indication of whether it’s good or not, but that doesn’t mean much because I’m biased. It’s funny though, when I read books I’m intimidated because I don’t think my writing is as good as the books I read.
That’s the bane of our existence—one moment believing we have what it takes, and the next moment unsure if we are even skilled enough. Somehow, there’s a lingering doubt. But hey, it only makes us strive to be better, right?
